What is the point of having a naming ceremony?
If you are not of a religious denomination, but would like to celebrate the birth of a new baby, or the addition of children to your family, this ceremony is an alternative to a traditional christening.
How much does it cost to have a naming ceremony?
A Naming Ceremony costs $450. A $150 non- refundable deposit is required to be paid upon booking with the balance paid 2 weeks prior to the ceremony.
Do Naming Ceremonies have any legal status?
No, they are simply to give recognition to a new addition to the family.
How long will the ceremony take?
It is dependant on the amount of readings etc you include into your ceremony. Usually allow 30 minutes for a naming ceremony.
Where should we hold this type of ceremony?
This type of ceremony can be held practically anywhere. You can have it at your home, at a park, or anywhere you decide
Can we make an allowance in the ceremony for special recognition of the child's Guardian/ Godparents?
Yes, of course. Apart from you, the parents, the child's guardian plays an important role in their life. Therefore, it is also important to include them in the ceremony. Typically the child's guardian holds the child and repeats promises, which the celebrant asks them to say.
Who should we invite to our child's naming ceremony?
Typically close friends and family are invited.
